Missions

Responsible for the management and development of the operational aspects of all World Athletics Series events (WAS events) and Olympic Games (OG).

  • Lead and manage the unit of Event Operations (overseeing areas of Accommodation & Offices, Accreditation, Arrival & Departures, Customs, Security, Transport, Volunteers etc.) .

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver event operations at WAS Events and OG (including site visits, milestones and event delivery meetings leading up to the event etc.).

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver future organisers’ program at WAS Events .

  • Examine and evaluate bids for WAS events helping candidate cities and members of federations (MFs) submit the best bid possible .

  • Data capture for transfer of knowledge purposes .

  • Develop and innovate on all the operational aspects of WAS Events and OG .

  • Provide expertise as needed and support to other areas as required in and outside of the department.

  • Develop and manage the budget for the unit .

Profil

  • Experience in sports management (minimum 5 years) with similar positions and extensive knowledge in event operations considered as an asset.

  • Excellent project management skills : planning, budgets, negotiation, time management , adhesion ...

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management or related areas (minimum).

  • Excellent interpersonal social and leadership skills.

  • Total integrity .

  • Strong communication skills .

  • Strong presentation and reporting skills.

  • Proactive approach to problem solving , anticipation.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with a wide variety of publics and stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams , agility, dynamism and influence.

  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude when working on various topics at events with long workdays.

  • Ability to cope with multiple tasks and work to tight schedules .

  • Focus on efficiency and solutions.

  • Ability to analyse current work methods and propose continuous improvement of our processes .

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 to C2).

  • Other languages considered an asset .

  • Good knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office, Teams, Smartsheet, AI Copilot ).
